Terms of use
Last updated: 14 September 2026
These terms apply when you use Ikarona, on the web at ikarona.com or in the Ikarona app. By using Ikarona or creating an account, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
What Ikarona is
Ikarona is where people advertise property for sale or rent in Lebanon, and where buyers and renters find it. We are not an estate agent, and we are not a party to any sale, rental or other deal made between people who meet through Ikarona. Viewing a property, checking its papers, negotiating and paying are between you and the other party.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 and give accurate information.
- Keep your password to yourself: you are responsible for what is done with your account.
- Don’t create an account in someone else’s name without their permission, or to get around a suspension.
Posting a listing
If you post a listing, you confirm that:
- you own the property, or have the owner’s permission to advertise it;
- the listing is accurate — its price, area, location, photos and description — and is for a property that is really available;
- your photos are yours to use, and show the property itself;
- you will keep it up to date: confirm that it is still available when we ask, and mark it sold or rented, or take it down, once it is no longer on offer.
Every listing is reviewed before it goes live. We may decline or remove a listing at any time — for example, if it breaks these terms, if buyers report it and we can’t confirm it, or if its lister doesn’t confirm that it is still available. A listing that isn’t confirmed for 60 days comes down.
What isn’t allowed
- Fake, misleading or duplicate listings, or listings for property you can’t offer.
- Spam, unsolicited advertising, or contacting people about anything other than the property they asked about.
- Harassment, threats, discrimination or hateful content.
- Content that is illegal, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
- Collecting other people’s contact details or listings, by scraping or by any other means.
- Interfering with the service, or trying to reach parts of it you aren’t meant to.
Deed-checked listings and other signals
Some listings carry a “Deed-checked” mark. It means Ikarona compared the area stated in the listing with the title deed documents the lister provided. It is not a legal check of ownership, of the title’s validity or of the property’s condition, and it is not legal advice.
Other signals — such as when a listing was last confirmed available, area price medians and drive times — are estimates given as a guide. Check anything that matters to you directly with the other party, and with a lawyer or another professional where appropriate.
Messages and contact
Use messaging only to talk about the property in question. If someone misuses it, you can block them, and you can tell us at support@ikarona.com. Contacting a lister by phone or WhatsApp happens outside Ikarona.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it on Ikarona, you allow us to host, display, adapt (for example, resize photos) and share it, so that it can be shown on the website, in the app and in links people share. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others have already shared or that the law requires us to keep.
Ending your use
You can stop using Ikarona and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that puts other people or the service at risk.
The service as it is
We work to keep Ikarona accurate and available, but we provide it as it is. Listings are written by the people who post them, and we don’t guarantee that they are accurate, lawful or still available. To the extent the law allows, Ikarona is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the service or from dealings between users. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and tell you about significant changes in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Ikarona afterwards, the new terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, and any dispute about them goes to the competent Lebanese courts.
